BRANSON MO NEWS: (St. Louis, MO) — President Donald Trump is coming to Missouri this afternoon (Wednesday) for an event at the Boeing plant in St. Louis. Trump will gather with state business leaders and Republican politicians for a roundtable discussion on the Tax Cut and Jobs Act. Shares of Boeing have risen since the tax plan was signed into law in December and the St. Louis plant has profited from increased military spending. Trump is expected to talk about his budget request for more Super Hornet fighter jets. The president will also attend a private fundraiser tonight for Attorney General Josh Hawley’s campaign for U-S Senate. This is President Trump’s third visit to Missouri since last August.
(Columbia, MO) — Students in Missouri and across the U-S are walking out of class today (Wednesday 10 A-M) on the one-month anniversary of Parkland, Florida school shooting. Students plan to leave class this morning for 17 minutes in honor of the 17 people killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Students from about 15 districts in Missouri are taking part in the National School Walkout to end gun violence. They are calling for a ban on assault weapons, universal background checks, and a gun violence restraining order which would allow courts to disarm people who display warning signs of violent behavior. Walkouts are planned in the Kansas City and St. Louis areas, Columbia, Farmington, Joplin, Maryville, and Washington, according to actionnetwork.org.
