Al. Ringling Theatre unveils live performance slate
BRANSON MO NEWS: With summer programs underway, the Al. Ringling Theatre Friends group is turning its attention to a bustling slate of performances set for the 2018-19 season.Hourlong tours are being offered at 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Saturdays this summer, plus Sundays during the Downtown Sunday Market. They will continue through the end of September, as the theater saw strong demand for tours at summer’s end last year.Also this summer, downtown Baraboo’s historic playhouse will play more than a bit role in the Big Top Parade and Circus Celebration. It will show “The Big Circus,” a film that debuted at the theater in 1959, on July 20. The next night, after the parade, the theater will offer a free sneak peek at the upcoming PBS documentary “The Circus.”
New-look websiteMeanwhile, alringling.org has been revamped with a new ticket-buying system boosted by fiber-optic technology. Graced by Bill Johnsen photography, the revitalized website allows visitors to buy subscriptions to the “Living with ART” performance series.“I think it’s just a lot more user-friendly,” said ART Friends Executive Director Stephanie Miller-Lamb.The nonprofit organization is using Google analytics to determine how patrons are finding out about the theater. ART Friends already has learned 40 percent of the website’s traffic is driven by social media. Baraboo ranks fourth among the communities whose residents most often buy tickets, following Madison, Reedsburg and Portage.“We’re going to know a lot more about our patrons — who they are, where they come from and where they get that information,” Miller-Lamb said.‘Living with ART’Visitors can buy tickets to 10 live shows starting June 15.
