<b>Branson</b>, <b>Mo</b>., in the fall offers a leafy retreat

BRANSON MO NEWS: BRANSON, Mo. — “Okies,” a pro-Branson co-worker told me, “love Branson.”
Would I, a non-native who has adopted the Sooner State as home, find Branson as endearing as some of my colleagues?
My family decided we ought to give it a try to scout out potential locations for a family reunion. With my people spread all over the Midwest, Branson seemed like a good meeting point with lots to do. We coordinated with relatives who live in the St. Louis area, and off to Branson we went.
Here’s what I discovered after spending Labor Day weekend bouncing around the city with my husband and two kids, ages 6 and 3, and a few members of our extended family.
Lodging
Condos are a great option for families who want a little more elbow room.
The Village at Indian Point is nestled in a hillside overlooking Table Rock Lake.
The condominium we stayed in featured two bedrooms, a pullout couch and two full bathrooms. There were two screened-in porches, one of them overlooking the lake. The whole setup possessed a log cabin motif. Think taxidermy. Animal skins. Raccoons. Deer. And full tilt on the bear tchotchkes! My husband stepped on the pointed pine trees …
