Branson Gets New Police Chief

BRANSON, Mo. — A veteran police officer with more than three decades of experience has been chosen to be Branson’s new Chief of Police, the city announced Wednesday.Jeff Matthews is currently Deputy Chief of the Arlington, Texas Police Department. He was chosen by a panel composed of sitting police chiefs from across Missouri. Branson city leaders, business owners and citizens were also involved in the process.Matthews succeeds Stan Dobbins, who is now Branson City Administrator. Matthews will start in Branson early to mid April.In a statement provided by the city of Branson, Matthews said, ““I’m honored to be selected to serve as Branson’s police chief. I’m excited to work with our officers and staff to better serve our citizens and visitors.
