Branson man sentenced for child porn

BRANSON MO NEWS: A Branson man was sentenced to five years in federal prison last week for his role in distributing child pornography.According to federal court documents, William M. Walker, 75, was found guilty Aug. 10 of receiving and distributing child pornography from June 1 and Aug. 10, 2016.

According to an indictment, he knowingly received and distributed material, which had been mailed and shipped in interstate commerce, that involved the use of a minor engaged in a sexually explicit conduct.Federal Judge Douglas Harpool sentenced Walker to five years in prison, followed by 10 years supervised probation.

According to federal documents, the parties in the case agreed that Walker would also pay $75,000 in restitution. The court recommended that Walker be assigned to a sex offender treatment program and that he be sent to the U.S. Medical Center in Springfield.According to a 2016 press release from the U.S. Attorneys office of western Missouri, the case was  investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations, the South Central Missouri Computer Task Force and the Taney County Sheriff’s Department.
