LSUS, La. Tech, ULM teams to vie for national title

I think our local knowledge of how the river has changed with the recent floods will put us at an advantage,” said LSUS veteran angler Jared Rascoe of Stonewall. “There will be over 180 teams from across the country competing so it will be interesting to see how it plays out. Being that I graduated a few weeks ago, this will be my last big college tournament, so we are looking to bring home the trophy here in our backyard.” The nearly 400 anglers will compete on Wednesday through Friday on the river, with Saturday’s action between just two anglers. The event is being hosted by the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission and the Red River Waterway Commission. Rascoe will compete with Bossier City’s James Kimbrough, while Ryan Antee and Harrison Hopkins, both of Bossier City, will also represent LSUS. Tech anglers include Scott McClellan (Leesville), Adam Forester (Tioga), Taylor Tindall (Monroe) and Brennan Soileau (Lake Charles).
