Michael and Patricia Meyer of Jacksonville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday. They were married Sept. 7, 1968, at Greenfield United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert Ross, now deceased.

Michael is the son of the late Dean and Addie Meyer of Greenfield. Patricia is the daughter of Charles and Eleanor Ross of Greenfield.

The couple has two children, Julie Cook of Oro Valley, Arizona; and Matthew (Bri) of Edwardsville. They also have two grandsons, Drew Cook and Dylan Cook, both of Oro Valley.

Michael is a retired Jacksonville Police Department sergeant. Patricia worked for many years at Presbyterian Day Care.

The couple celebrated with a getaway to Branson, Missouri, and later will celebrate with their children and grandchildren in Oro Valley.
