In College Station, Texas, on Sunday, a competitive game turned in the Aggies’ favor in the second quarter when a flood of Mizzou turnovers contributed to a 20-3 Texas A&M run. The Tigers fell behind by 20 in the quarter and missed nine consecutive field goal attempts during a scoreless stretch of 5:19. The Aggies seized control by outscoring MU 22-7 in the second quarter and led by as least 16 points the rest of the game.“We let our offense dictate our defense and we had some bad turnovers in that second quarter,” Mizzou coach Robin Pingeton said on her postgame radio interview. “We had had six or seven that led to easy transition buckets. Against at team like this on their home court those are momentum plays. We got deflated.“We stayed competitive in the third and fourth (quarter), but when you dig yourselves that big of a hole in the SEC it’s going to be a tough battle back.”
