BRANSON MO NEWS: CANTON — Santa and Mrs. Claus, sometimes known by the aliases of Dennis and Deborah Reed, have been entertaining the region with their Yuletide antics for 12 years and counting.They first adopted the jolly personae in 2004 after a flood ravaged their hometown of Canton. Along with now-Mayor Mike Ray and his wife Sherry, the Reeds wanted to do something for the community. With the help of Frank McCloud, this led to the town’s first-ever “Breakfast With Santa.” “We bought a suit at Walmart, and he became Santa that year,” Mrs. Claus, aka Deborah, said. The next year, Dennis retired from his job at the Champion Paper Mill and decided to commit his time to becoming Old Saint Nick, leading the couple to start the company Smokey Mountain Santa.
