Son of Saint Jo resident Lillie Sewell wins Emmy Award

Matthew Sewell, son of Lillie Sewell of Saint Jo, was awarded an Emmy Award at the Mid America Emmy Awards Oct. 1 in Branson, Missouri.
Sewell, a graduate of Gainesville High School, is a TV news producer for KARK-KLRT in Little Rock, Arkansas. He and his co-workers won the award for “Severe Weather Strikes During Holidays.
Sewell lives in Little Rock, where he also works as a professional photographer.

Nathan J. Bell, IV, of Paris, was elected president of the board of directors for the Red River Authority of Texas. Bell has been a member of the board since 2000 and has was president once before.
Others elected as officers were Vice President C. Cole Camp, of Amarillo; Secretary Penny C. Carpenter, of Silverton; and Assistant Secretary Stephen A. Thornhill, of Denison. Directors are Wilson Scaling II, of Henrietta; Jerry Bob Daniel, of Truscott; Billy Mayfield McCraw II, of Telephone; and Montford T. Johnson III, of Amarillo.
The RRA is a conservation and reclamation district headquartered in Wichita Falls. Its territory includes 43 Texas counties along the Red River in Texas, where the agency is charged with conservation, reclamation, protection and development of the water resources within the Red …
