Stranded cruisers wait in Mobile for delayed Carnival ship
BRANSON MO NEWS: MOBILE, AL (WALA) -
A Carnival spokesperson says the Carnival cruise ship out of Mobile has been delayed because of bad weather in the Gulf of Mexico and will return Tuesday at 11 a.m.It was supposed to return Monday morning.Many vacationers who were supposed to board the ship Monday afternoon found themselves stranded in Mobile when they found out Monday morning the cruise was delayed.”Through the hotel not through Carnival, which the hotel was fantastic on updating us and getting us on a waiting list because with this being a busy weekend it was going to be a scramble for where to stay,” said Dana Wright who drove down with her husband from Branson Missouri.The cruise line gave people two options – cancel for a full refund, or get a partial refund for the one day delay.The Wrights decided to take the partial refund since they had already driven 12 hours.“We’ve gotten to see some really fun restaurants, see the history museum, went to the cathedral this morning and toured the square so we wouldn’t have seen that otherwise and we really enjoyed that,” said Wright.Vicki Rozema drove from Chattanooga and also decided to …
