Despite clouds hanging around with just some peeks of sunshine, temperatures should warm up today on the breezy south winds. Highs will get into the upper 50’s east, in the lower 60’s around Springfield and areas west.Winds stay breezy tonight, keeping the air mixed and warm. Mostly cloudy skies with lows only dropping into the lower 40’s.By Friday a nose of moisture arrives into the Ozarks from the south bringing scattered rain showers in the early afternoon. A rumble of thunder is possible. A cold front slides down from the north in the afternoon. Temperatures make it to highs in the middle 50’s around Springfield, lower 60’s to the south, before the cold front arrives. Temperatures tumble as the cold front moves into the Ozarks. The cold air is strong and deep enough to change rain into snow. Expect moderate, to at times heavy, snow Friday evening and overnight. I have minimal ice concerns for Springfield, a light glaze is possible south towards Branson and northern Arkansas. Snow continues through the overnight and exits by Saturday morning.SNOW FORECAST: I expect about 1-2″ of snow around Springfield, higher totals north around HWY 54 including Lake of the Ozarks..2-4″ for central Missouri. Where the air will stay warmer longer, around Branson and south, less than an inch of snow …
