Weekly happenings at Shady Oaks Healthcare
BRANSON MO NEWS: We have had many exciting moments at Shady Oaks. One of the top 10 in my 20 years happened in Branson on Aug. 27 at the Missouri Healthcare Association Convention.Peggy Flood was crowned our District 4 Queen a few months ago and went onto the convention to compete in “THE” Ms. Missouri Nursing Home Pageant.The day started with a “Queen’s Breakfast” with four judges interviewing each contestant.
Then it was time for the pageant. The men were wearing their tuxedos with beautiful floral arrangements across the stage.Peggy had 13 family members on the front row cheering her on. I was sitting on pins and needles for an hour about to burst throughout the event.When they announced Peggy Flood as the queen, I jumped in the air before realizing how formal this event actually was. It was such an exciting moment for Peggy and Shady Oaks.Our District 4 President Roy Pace also gave her $100 to go shopping. Peggy has decided she wants to go to the Dixie Stampede with her $100 gift.September is Thayer Bobcat Month at Shady Oaks. We have our facility decorated in green, black and white.
We have on alumni Bobcat football player, Marty Komm and two former Bobcat cheerleaders, Helen Jo Ricketts and Lena Daily.These ladies are very excited about the cheerleaders who are coming to perform at 3:30 p.m. this Friday. Everyone is invited to come watch them cheer for our residents.Our Director of Nursing, Lynsey Miller has volunteered to oversee our residents’ float for the Bobcat Homecoming.We are so excited that our residents are getting to ride on the float.Our administrator Leigh Kincheloe has ordered some fun things for us to throw out this year. Some of our other residents will be sitting downtown waiting to see the parade. Shady Oaks …
