BRANSON MO NEWS: Greetings my Loyal Reader(s), and welcome to the latest edition of the Branson Beat, your home for all the news on the Branson entertainment scene.Even though this is one of the busiest weekends of the summer, what with the Southern Gospel Picnic and the 30th annual Branson Fiddle Festival and Mid-America Fiddle Championship, there is still plenty to see and do here in Ozark Mountain Country, especially when it comes to live music.Friday night will see Branson Landing’s free concert series continue with one of my favorite local groups, Prince Ivan on the stage in front of the fountains.

Featuring Brydon Brett and Aaron Ellsworth, this group’s vision is to “create new music that is really cool, fresh and that anyone can relate to, especially the kids who listen to mainstream radio, but do it in a way that we’d never be embarrassed to show it to Ivan,” their nephew who the band is named after. Not only is their music contemporary, it has an old school sensibility, and it’s quite good. Do yourselves a favor and check it Prince Ivan out Friday night.Showtime is 7 p.m., and the show is free to attend.Saturday morning, the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery will host a workshop on Ozark reptiles from 10 a.m. to noon. A discovery table will feature live turtles, lizards, and snakes to see and touch. The two-headed western (black) rat snake will be available to touch. There will be a few replica snakes to help you learn which Missouri species are venomous. No registration is required.

Saturday at 7 p.m. at the White River Coffee Company in Rockaway Beach, local entertainer Aaron Napier will perform first of several “showcase” events to help capitalize on the growing Online success …
