District changes lead to playoff shuffling
BRANSON MO NEWS: A new school year and now a new district look for many of the fall sports teams in the Tri-Lakes region.The Missouri State High School Activities Association announced the new districts on Friday morning, and it yielded some new postseason opponents.Branson football moves to Class 5 District 6 and will compete with Carthage, Nixa, Parkview and Republic — all new opponents in the Pirates’ district.
Hollister and Reeds Spring will compete in Class 3 District 6, with a largely unchanged group that includes Aurora, Cassville, Clinton, Mount Vernon, Nevada and Seneca.Forsyth’s first foray into district competition sees the Panthers in Class 2 District 3, with a group of Ava, Fair Grove, Houston, Mountain View-Birch Tree Liberty, Mountain Grove, Strafford and Willow Springs.VOLLEYBALLBranson’s volleyball competition in the postseason remains relatively unchanged, with the Class 4 District 10 field including Springfield Kickapoo, Nixa, Ozark, Springfield Parkview, Republic and West Plains.Hollister and Reeds Spring remain together, moving to Class 3 District 12, with Aurora, Cassville, Monett, Mount Vernon and Seneca.Forsyth is in Class 3 District 11, with Ava, Logan-Rogersville, Marshfield, Springfield Catholic and Willow Springs.Blue Eye and School of the Ozarks remain in Class 1 District 6, with Bradleyville, Chadwick, Fordland, Niangua and Sparta.
