Magicians’ tricks are carefully guarded and audiences are left baffled, wondering if what they just saw could possibly be true.Take a night off from the big screen and enjoy a live magic show on stage at Hibbing High School. Sponsored by the Mesaba Concert Association (MCA), Grand Magic will appear at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 26.This showing will be the finale for the MCA’s 2017-2018 season and general admission tickets are available at the door for $20 each.Headquartered in Branson, Missouri, Grand Magic touts itself as “one of the biggest, maybe the biggest show to travel in the Allied Concert Series,” according to Grand Magic’s star performer Duane Laflin.Laflin is described as a “an internationally awarded performer who maintains a commitment to family-friendly entertainment,” according to Grand Magic’s website. It goes on to describe the show as “a fast-paced combination of amazing effects, comedy, dazzling costumes” and — oh, great music too.“Kids love our show, but it is important for people to know it is not a ‘kiddie show.’ This is more like what people would see in Las Vegas,” explained Laflin. “It’s great entertainment for grown-ups, but always family-friendly.
