BRANSON MO NEWS: Branson, Mo., author Larry Campbell will be in Bismarck for two appearances  to speak and sign copies of his new book, “Rollin’ Down the River —Discovering People and Places Along the Mighty Missouri.”
Campbell will give a presentation and sign copies of the coffee table book at the Bismarck-Mandan Chamber of Commerce at 6 p.m. Oct. 10. The next day, he will appear at Barnes and Noble Booksellers in Bismarck from 2 to 5 p.m. to greet readers and sign books.

“Rollin’ Down the River” is a collection of photographs, anecdotes and vignettes by Campbell, who fulfilled a dream during the summer of 2016 to travel the length of the Missouri River from its source in Three Forks, Mont., to its confluence with the Mississippi River north of St. Louis. Campbell visited the Bismarck-Mandan area on Aug. 11-14, 2016. The book features photographs and recollections of visits to the rebuilt Fort Mandan near Washburn and Fort Abraham Lincoln, as well as the North Dakota State Capitol in Bismarck, a building that is unique in architecture from most state capitol buildings. Also featured is Bismarck’s Alley 5.5, where local artists have transformed an alley into an open-air gallery of murals.
